About DCSD is a public education system nestled among 751 beautiful square miles of western Nevada. Our county includes both the Carson Valley and portions of Lake Tahoe. The Valley is bordered on the west by the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada with peaks reaching 11,000 feet above sea level, and by the Pinenut Mountains on the east rising to 9,400 feet. Our district serves the communities of Gardnerville, Minden, Genoa and parts of Lake Tahoe (from Glenbrook to Stateline.) Our schools provide over 6,000 students with a nurturing and rigorous learning environment.
